Bloodchild (2 points)

  I was stunned when reading this. I was horrified by the events that happened in the book. For example, alien creatures that do not look normal. It felt like the short story was filled with terrifying moments like this one. I also was very conflicted about the themes related to the short story. Almost like I was dealing with the consequences that happened in the book, like how you make choices in an RPG video game. As well as being creeped out that males are impregnated with a baby.  A connection I was able to make with the book Handmaid's Tale. In that book, surrogate reproduction happens a lot because society has diminished in population; Bloodchild shows how an alien species cannot have children of their own. They help from the human species. The elements I was able to connections is with sex roles in the book. The main character has to carry an alien baby. When reading this book, I saw a dystopian future centered around drugs. Yes I am not kidding around. The everyday person has to take prescription drugs. It is as if the drugs were a constant source and were overly used by everyone. The main drug is one that gets people addicted to work more. Really, that sounds so unhealthy. Now the reality about this book is that it tries to bring light in modern times. The main characters are named Jack, Paladin, and Elias. The book keeps alternating between Jack and Paladin/Elias. It’s main reason is to show the consequences of the characters actions. In fact, much of the book revolves around choices. It is why the book is a cyberpunk universe because of the consequences of character actions.  I can tell that this is a cyberpunk universe because Paladin is a military robot. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (6 points)

After hearing through all 12 audiobooks, is what I think they are called. Any who I noticed a fantastic change of pace than just reading through a book. Instead a monologous reads this, as it is not a short story or book. No, it is something more or something greater than the sum of its parts. It is a radio show, yay.  Although that’s not to say I got bored after hearing the 8th audio reading because his voice was so boring, like really boring. So, this blog is not the average blog I do.
