Altered Carbon 6 points

The book is an extremely cool one. The setting is one of the neon lights around the world Its universe is one where people are immortal, and a body is known as a sleeve. A person cannot die if the stack does not die, digitized consciousness. An idea of immortality shown throughout the book. It is one of a kind cyberpunk genre, as it tells an unbelievable story. The story of finding the mystery of the death of Mr.Bancrofts sleeve. It is a mystery written almost like reading dialogue and thoughts from Kovacs. Although, the story of his death is overly complex, creating an innovative conspiracy that takes. The conspiracy theory of why Mr. Bancroft's sleeve was killed and in turn discovers a horrific secret, under the new resolution to be passed. A new law that would allow victims to testify against religious organizations.
The elements of the cyberpunk genre play out in the book. For instance, the book has futuristic flying cars in the book. The book also has A.I robots, explaining that humans have independence toward A. I’s. Altered Carbon shows that the world takes place in the future. However, the book shows it is a cyberpunk genre because people in this world are obsessed with immortality. They can throw away as many sleeves as possible and come back from the dead.
At the beginning of the book as well, Kovacs wakes up in a body. He asks for a mirror from the doctors who put his stack into his sleeve. When he gets a mirror, he sees the face he wore before. It shows that Kovacs is no longer the person from the prologue and a new identity has taken over instead. The idea of Kovacs free-will be also explored. As the sheriff says in the prison where he got the sleeve. He does not have any rights, a consideration that he is forced to take the job or go back into storage.
As the story also has a background on the main character Kovacs. His past itself tells that he is the last Envoy. A terrorist organization in the story. Ryker is also an idea that is shown beneath the conspiracy. He was once Ortega's lover, but he was put on ice and his sleeve, he was framed for corruption. The body of Ryker is in Kovac, a major plot twist because the conspiracy is like pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Ryker is also an idea that is shown beneath the conspiracy.

The body of Ryker is in Kovac, a major plot twist because the conspiracy is like pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Ortega is a police officer who originally handled Mr.Bancrofts. However, Mr.Bancroft thought she had prejudice for his age. The symbolism behind Ryker is about remembrance and guilt for one's past actions. Ortega is trapped with letting go of the one she loves and therefore is trapped by what happened. Ryker shows as well that the book is a cyberpunk genre. Her story combines this through the conspiracy of the events that happened. The fight scenes in the book are awesome because of the dialogue like writing. In an action movie, cinematic composition shows where the characters are in relation to one another. The book is like watching the fight scenes take place. Altered Carbon is a great book and must be read by all. It is one of the very few science fiction book that allows the reader to be a part of the narrative, which is why I say it is a must read by all. The reason as well why it is a great book to read.
