It is a book that tells the story of a physiological horror. The book is about a guy that works at an advertising agency and interviews people. He interviews them about a mutant sheep. A strange book already. As the main character confronts his inner demons. The story is written with paragraphs that are like reading a children's book, so yeah quite easy to read. However, the messages in the story are extraordinarily complex. The main character is dealing with a difficult situation in his past. The idea of inner demons plays out throughout the story. As the main character interviews people about a sheep, he slowly heals his wounds from his past.

As the story begins with the main character looking at a photo from the advertising agency. It is a mutant sheep that has a weird birthmark shaped like a star. The main plot of the story. He travels to various locations. It is where he interviews the sheep. However, some of the characters have a difficult past, showing a sadness behind the book. Even the landscapes, like the snowy mountains show the isolation that some of the characters have. The winter landscape even shows how dreary the world that the author created.

The main character eventually meets The Boss. He is the most interesting character The Boss. The Boss is only tiled as that, explaining how powerful without knowing yet of his backstory. The word implies a menacing tone. He is immensely powerful as a political figure. However, The Boss is slowly dying. It is where the main character also learns about the mysterious sheep, where the main character has to find the sheep, or his life will be ruined. An interesting title because the book is called A Wild Sheep Chase, meaning that the main character must chase down the sheep. The story as I said in paragraph 1, is complex to understand but deep down the story means something.

The characters do not have names because it is more about the identity of the characters. For example, when the main character talks to the professor, the professor just goes by that name and not a real one. It is to show the identity of these characters and label them instead of what they do. As the main character talks to the professor, he discovers the location of where the photo was taken from. The journey that shows him where the sheep is, shows the main character that he is on a journey for his self-discovery and identity. In the craziness of his life. The horror genre of this book tells an interesting story.

The story is interesting because it tells a different take on the horror genre. As it is a Japanese horror story. Japanese horror stories usually entail something that is physiological and mystery that grabs the reader's attention. The main character's psychological horror takes him talking to different people and experiencing. To overcome different obstacles in the main character's path. I must say that this story is one of the very books that takes a spin on horror and turns it around. It is a book that a person should try to decipher. Overall, A Wild Sheep Chase tells interesting interviews from the advertising agency.

The Handmaid's Tale (5 points)

  The Handmaid’s Tale is a dystopian future as women are subjugated and are slaves in this universe. Many of the women are forced to reproduce children. People who disagree with the government are killed on the spot. When reading the setting and tone, it tells of a society where women are subjugated, like not allowed to read or write. In most dystopias futures, world is full of totalitarianism. An example is the book 1984. As I kept on reading the book by Marget Adwood, I realized the tone is very bleak and desolate. When the United States collapses, Gilead takes over as the government and it shows the dangers of this. The book is also a work of feminism, as it tries to explain what could happen if people are not given rights. The show and the book are very different. Bloodchild (2 points)

  I was stunned when reading this. I was horrified by the events that happened in the book. For example, alien creatures that do not look normal. It felt like the short story was filled with terrifying moments like this one. I also was very conflicted about the themes related to the short story. Almost like I was dealing with the consequences that happened in the book, like how you make choices in an RPG video game. As well as being creeped out that males are impregnated with a baby.  A connection I was able to make with the book Handmaid's Tale. In that book, surrogate reproduction happens a lot because society has diminished in population; Bloodchild shows how an alien species cannot have children of their own.
